Let’s make Western MA a great place for residents and visitors to drive an electric car
The 413 Charger Challenge
We are a coalition taking a localized approach to the challenge of increasing EV charging infrastructure in Western Massachusetts, an area which is currently underserved with public charging infrastructure.
We’re embracing slow, passive charging - known as “Level 1” - with a goal of reaching hundreds of sites in our community. This approach will enable sites to provide electric charging at a much lower cost than the typical “Level 2” charging option, and to give drivers many more options for where they fill up their battery.
From rural towns without downtowns, to dense neighborhoods with apartment dwellers that can’t charge at home, we want to engage our whole region to access and benefit from the transition to electric transportation.
-
Revvit’s chargers are developed locally and utilize a first-of-its-kind, sustainably harvested wooden structure from Charlemont, MA. Installing a network of 413 of these charging ports around the region will drive foot traffic to participating sites and keep the invested dollars in the community.
-
The chargers provided by Revvit can save sites tens of thousands of dollars in installation costs due to their low electrical footprint. They only need a simple 120V connection which means more chargers can be deployed on a site’s existing infrastructure.
-
Less expensive deployment means more charging available, helping to address one of the key challenges to EV adoption. Revvit’s product also makes it easy to operate both for the site owner and the driver. These chargers will avoid the typical hassles of apps and screens that come with other charging types.
-
One of the barriers to greater deployment of charging - and a source of its high costs - is the grid’s capacity in a given neighborhood. Most EV chargers need more energy than the grid can currently provide. The Revvit Level 1 charger requires significantly less electrical power to charge up, meaning that it can be deployed quickly and inexpensively while grid is being updated over the next decades.

Someone from the Revvit team will visit your site and provide details on how you can design the most cost-effective and user friendly charging hub in your parking lot.
Installation & Funding Assistance
One of the great things about Level 1 charging is that you can choose to have your regular electrician install it, or we can recommend a specialist.
Once you have a quote for equipment & installation we can help you determine what local and state funding sources may be available and begin your application.
Operations & Maintenance
The simplicity of the “no frills” Revvit charger makes it easy to operate and maintain. On top of the included warranty, you can opt into a maintenance plan to get prompt resolution of any maintenance issues.
